Halloween is crashing Louisville’s calendar months early, and Caufield’s Novelty is ready with enough creepy spectacle to make August feel suspiciously like October. The downtown shop’s annual Creepfest returns this weekend with vendors, haunted attractions, costume contests and plenty of reasons to embrace the spooky season ahead of schedule.
The 2026 event marks Creepfest’s third year at the year-round Halloween and horror store. According to WLKY, the festival will feature more than 80 vendors, artists, special guests, photo opportunities and haunted attractions, with free admission on both days.
Two Days Of Costumes, Haunts And Weird Finds
Creepfest runs from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, according to GoToLouisville. The lineup includes an adult costume contest, a pet costume contest and a new Battle of the Haunts costume contest joining the 2026 schedule.
Visitors can also browse horror, Halloween and spooky-themed merchandise while checking out the event’s artists, food trucks and special guests. With admission costing nothing, the biggest danger may be leaving without buying something gloriously unnecessary.

Caufield’s Novelty has operated as a family-owned Louisville landmark since 1920, building a reputation around costumes, masks, wigs, makeup, props, decorations, animatronics and novelty items. In other words, Halloween is not a seasonal pop-up here — it is the year-round business model.
Creepfest has quickly become an annual showcase for Louisville’s horror and Halloween community. The festival’s second-year edition in 2025 featured more than 70 vendors and multiple costume contests, as reported by WLKY’s earlier coverage, and this year’s larger vendor lineup adds another chapter to the city’s increasingly elaborate spooky-season calendar.
