Waxahachie is getting another excuse to break out the costumes, pumpkins and sturdy walking shoes this fall. Scarborough’s Hollow is returning with fairy-tale characters, artisan shopping, seasonal food and drink, and enough spooky mischief to keep the Halloween crowd interested.
The festival will run Saturdays from September 26 through October 31, from 1 to 9 p.m., with an additional Sunday event on November 1. The official event page says this year’s version will feature an expanded footprint and more entertainment, immersive experiences and interactive activities, while ticket information is still listed as coming soon.
For the basic lay of the land, CultureMap Dallas lists live entertainment, a pumpkin patch, artisan shoppes, a petting zoo, a fun house and a haunted house. The result is less a single haunted attraction than a full fall outing where families can split up by bravery level and meet back later for snacks.
Fairy Sisters, Hayrides And Two Very Different Thrills
The festival’s attractions guide includes meet-and-greets with the three fairy sisters, a pumpkin patch, themed photo spots and the Trickster’s Trail of Leaping Lights. Guests can also pay extra for the Masquerade of Mischief Fun House, Morwyn’s Manor Haunted House and The Hollow’s Hayride, while the Little Lantern Petting Zoo is scheduled for Saturdays from 2 to 8 p.m. with an additional fee.
