A driver who police say struck two juveniles in a Fort Pierce crosswalk stopped long enough to check on them, then drove away. Investigators are now looking for a gold Mercedes-Benz and a man believed to be between 20 and 30 years old.
The juveniles were crossing North 25th Street at Avenue M in a marked crosswalk Saturday when they were hit, according to CBS12 News.
One juvenile was taken to a local hospital and later flown to St. Mary's Medical Center, where the injuries were described as non-life-threatening. The available report did not identify either juvenile, and police have not released the name of the driver.
Police Search For Gold Mercedes-Benz
The driver reportedly stopped after the crash and checked on the children before fleeing the scene. Police believe the vehicle was a gold Mercedes-Benz from the 2000s, and the CBS12 report says the Fort Pierce Police Department is asking the driver to come forward.
