A fight in southeast Fort Worth ended with one person dead and another wounded earlier today, turning a reported altercation into a deadly shooting investigation.
Officers were sent to the 4100 block of East Berry Street shortly after 2:20 a.m. after receiving a report of a fight, according to CBS News Texas. When they arrived, police said they learned the confrontation had escalated into gunfire and found an unidentified man suffering from a gunshot wound.
First responders attempted life-saving measures, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene. A second victim, who suffered a gunshot wound to the leg, was taken to a nearby hospital in a private vehicle and was last reported in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.
