Colorado's newest camping festival is heading to a ranch near Bailey this fall, pairing free daytime entry with an overnight option, live music, wellness sessions, family activities and a chance to roam through a field of White Duck tents. White Duck Basecamp is set for September 26-27, giving campers a low-cost excuse to trade another weekend of screen time for campfires and mountain air.
The first-ever event will take over Rustic Creek Ranch, a 160-acre working ranch near Bailey with meadows, ponderosa pines, a creek and mountain views. According to White Duck Outdoors, gates open at 10 a.m. Saturday, with a free day pass and a $25 camping pass for guests who want to stay overnight.
The daytime lineup is built for a broad crowd rather than hardcore campers alone. The Denver Gazette reports that the weekend will include Colorado folk band Bridger Teton, food, yoga, sound baths, guided wellness sessions, interactive art, games, face painting and a goat happy hour with ice cream.
Free Day Passes Meet A Surprisingly Cheap Overnight Stay
The free pass includes the live music, food vendors, family-friendly activities, wellness programming, games and White Duck's tent-and-gear displays. The overnight pass adds camping access, an evening campfire and s'mores gathering, Sunday morning coffee and breakfast, plus yoga, according to the organizer's event details.
Attendees can bring their own camping setup, while White Duck will also stage tents and camp layouts across the ranch so visitors can walk through the products in a real outdoor setting. The event has a clear retail component, too: the company says guests will be able to inspect its full gear lineup and place orders onsite.
A Camping Weekend With A Public-Lands Giveback
The festival is also timed to coincide with National Public Lands Day on September 26. The National Park Service describes the annual observance as the nation's largest single-day volunteer effort, and White Duck is partnering with Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado for the Bailey gathering.
Visitors will have the option of buying a parking pass, with 100% of those proceeds directed to VOC's work supporting Colorado's public lands. The setup gives the festival a little more purpose than simply selling canvas tents in a pretty field, while still leaving plenty of room for the usual campfire, coffee and questionable decisions about whether one more s'more is actually necessary.

The event is designed as either a day trip or an overnight campout, and the organizer says pets are welcome if they remain leashed around shared spaces and ranch animals. Camping-pass holders should plan to bring their own sleeping gear, warm layers, toiletries and food for the evening and morning, according to The Denver Gazette.
White Duck says the festival will run rain or shine, with the ranch's natural terrain meaning some areas may be uneven or unpaved. For anyone who wants a taste of the weekend without committing to a full camp setup, the free Saturday pass may be the easiest entry point; for everyone else, $25 buys a night under the Colorado sky and a built-in excuse to stay for Sunday morning yoga.
