A 29-year-old man died Tuesday evening after being shot during what investigators describe as a road rage confrontation near the intersection of Farrs Bridge Road and Eunice Drive in Greenville County. Deputies say Roberto Armando Reynaga Flores drove away from the shooting scene before pulling into a parking lot at 1913 Cedar Lane Road, where he was found inside his car with at least one gunshot wound. Within hours, investigators had a suspect in custody.
According to WYFF, deputies responded to the shooting at approximately 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, and Flores was pronounced dead at Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital at 5:53 p.m. The coroner's office identified the victim as Flores, a Greenville resident, and ruled his death a homicide, as reported by WYFF. Investigators say Flores had a passenger in his vehicle when the gunfire erupted, and that the confrontation began at the Farrs Bridge Road and Eunice Drive intersection before Flores drove toward Cedar Lane Road.
Suspect Arrested Hours After Shooting
Members of the Greenville County Sheriff's Office Fugitive Apprehension Specialized Investigations Team, known as FASIT, arrested 18-year-old Simon Alexsander Solis Pacheco at a residence on Four Oak Way at approximately 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, roughly six hours after the shooting. Investigators say Solis Pacheco got out of his vehicle during the confrontation, shot Flores, and then left the area before deputies caught up with him. He was transported to the Greenville County Detention Center and remains in custody, facing charges of murder, attempted murder, and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.
Investigators used automated license plate reader technology. Flock Safety cameras helped identify and confirm Flores's vehicle. The camera system has drawn its own scrutiny after two agency employees were fired in July for misusing it, according to the Post and Courier.
Specialized Unit Has Recent Track Record
FASIT is a unit within the sheriff's office, per the Greenville County Sheriff's Office. The same unit was involved in another arrest, as Hoodline previously reported.
Tuesday's shooting comes amid other recent reports of gun violence in the area.
Legal Stakes and a Broader Gun Violence Pattern
Solis Pacheco was charged with attempted murder in addition to murder; investigators said Flores had a passenger in the vehicle when the shots were fired.
The case unfolds against a broader gun-violence context. Nationally, firearm-involved road-rage incidents left 483 people shot, including 118 deaths, in 2023, according to Everytown for Gun Safety's analysis of Gun Violence Archive records, with the group noting that a person is wounded or killed in a road rage shooting somewhere in the country roughly every 18 hours in 2023.
According to WYFF, a separate Greenville road-rage shooting reported on Oct 3, 2024, led to charges of two counts of attempted murder, assault and battery, and three counts of possession of a weapon against a suspect identified as Murillo. Fox Carolina reported on Dec 9, 2025, that seven road-rage shootings had occurred in South Carolina.
What specifically triggered the confrontation at Farrs Bridge Road and Eunice Drive has not been detailed by investigators, and no statement from the surviving passenger in Flores's vehicle has been made public. It also remains to be seen whether Solis Pacheco's defense will raise South Carolina's self-defense statutes as the case moves through court.
