Two unidentified suspects are being sought after a late-night Bronx robbery in which a 49-year-old man was allegedly forced from his vehicle at gunpoint. The pair then fled in the victim’s car, according to police.
The NYPD Crime Stoppers unit said the incident happened around 3:40 a.m. on Sunday, July 26, on Sheridan Boulevard. In a wanted notice posted by NYPD Crime Stoppers, police said an unidentified man displayed a firearm and forced the victim out of the vehicle while an unidentified woman drove away.
Police Release A Wanted Notice More Than A Week Later
The public appeal was posted Tuesday, more than a week after the alleged robbery. Police did not identify either suspect by name, and the notice did not announce any arrests.
The scene was outside 1440 Sheridan Boulevard in the Bronx, a property city planning documents describe as a three-story hotel. The location sits in the East Morrisania section, near the Sheridan Expressway, according to the New York City Department of City Planning.
Anonymous Tips Could Bring A Reward
Anyone with information can call the NYPD Crime Stoppers hotline at 800-577-TIPS or submit an online tip. The NYPD Crime Stoppers program says anonymous information leading to an arrest and indictment can qualify for a reward of up to $3,500.
The department’s victim-services guidance says Crime Stoppers reports are anonymous and that callers do not have to provide a statement or appear in court. Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the early-morning encounter or recognized the suspects to contact investigators.
