A New York City-born burger chain is setting up shop in a former Taco Bell on East 10th Street, marking its first location in Indiana. Holy Burger will take over the space between Main Street and Nachand Lane, bringing its halal smash burgers and New York City menu staples to Southern Indiana.

The news was also reported by WDRB, which identified Holy Burger as a New York City-based chain opening its first Indiana outpost at the site. The deal was brokered by Rod Juarez of Bass Group Commercial, who represented Holy Burger in securing the lease at 1487 E. 10th Street, according to One Southern Indiana. Matt Hill of Legacy Commercial Properties represented the property owner in the transaction, the regional business chamber noted.

Holy Burger has a location on Manhattan's Lower East Side at 34 Canal Street before expanding to between 20 and 30 locations across New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Michigan, Texas, and Virginia, per the chain's own account of its footprint. Jeffersonville marks the brand's entry into Indiana. The chain's menu centers on smash burgers made from a brisket and short rib blend, alongside New York regional staples like the Chopped Cheese, Peri Peri chicken, plant-based options, and gluten-free items.

Holy Burger's Halal Menu

Holy Burger's burgers are described as halal. The new location will bring that offering to the corridor.

The property itself has a recent history tied to the same commercial strip. The building was formerly occupied by Taco Bell and will now be taken over by Holy Burger.

Why East 10th Street Keeps Drawing Chains

East 10th Street near the I-65 interchange remains part of the area's fast-food landscape. The same stretch of road continues to draw attention from food businesses.

The corridor also benefits from nearby commercial and institutional activity. Retail growth in the area continues.

Joining an Already Competitive Burger Scene

Holy Burger's arrival adds a new location in Jeffersonville. Harry's Taphouse keeps expanding regionally, operating two Jeffersonville locations and announcing a third regional expansion this past March. Together, the businesses reflect the area's continued dining growth.

No official grand opening date or staffing numbers for the Jeffersonville Holy Burger have been announced yet.
