The TxDOT Houston District reported the incident at 8:48 a.m. Tuesday and warned that multiple mainlanes were blocked. The alert did not provide details about the material involved, possible injuries or an estimated time for the lanes to reopen.

The interchange sits along a heavily traveled industrial corridor connecting the Houston Ship Channel, La Porte and nearby port facilities. TxDOT project materials identify the SH 225 and SH 146 corridor as including communities and freight destinations such as Barbours Cut, Deer Park, La Porte, Morgan’s Point and Pasadena, while Houston police list SH 225 between Loop 610 and SH 146 among roadways with commercial-truck lane restrictions.
