Morning Showers Give Way To Strong Afternoon Winds
Isolated rain showers could move through before noon, with a 20% chance of precipitation across the day. Showers will be most likely near windward and mauka areas, while central and leeward Honolulu should see longer breaks of sunshine.
Temperatures will climb to about 87 degrees Tuesday afternoon as east-northeast winds run 18 to 22 mph, with gusts reaching 31 mph, according to the National Weather Service. That combination could make exposed roads, open-air events and beach setups feel noticeably blustery.
Sunny Stretch Arrives Wednesday
Tuesday night will turn mostly clear, with a low near 77 degrees and winds easing slightly to 13 to 21 mph. Wednesday should be sunny with a high around 86, followed by similarly warm and mostly sunny conditions Thursday and Friday as winds ease to 8 to 12 mph.
The weekend remains largely favorable for outdoor plans, though isolated showers may pop up before noon Saturday and Sunday. Highs should hold near 86 degrees Saturday and Sunday, with another warm day reaching about 87 on Monday.
Trade Winds Keep East Shores Choppy
Persistent trade winds will keep east-facing shores rough and choppy, while south-facing surf is expected to build Wednesday and peak Thursday into Friday before fading over the weekend. A Small Craft Advisory remains posted through 6 p.m. Wednesday for select Maui and Big Island waters, not Honolulu, according to the NWS Honolulu marine forecast.
