Richardson is getting a new late-night burger destination, and this one brings a distinctly Northeast-style menu. Slap Burger plans to open its first Texas location in the city by Christmas, adding smash burgers, loaded chicken, cheese fries and banana pudding to the Arabian Village lineup.
The New Jersey-founded chain is taking over a former CBD shop at 888 S. Greenville Ave., where construction is already underway. According to CultureMap Dallas, the Richardson restaurant will be Slap Burger’s first foothold in Texas after expanding through New Jersey, New York and Florida.
Slap Burger’s official site shows a growing footprint that includes locations in Paterson and Clifton, New Jersey; several New York City neighborhoods; Cherry Hill; and Tampa. The company describes its menu as a mix of smashed burgers, chicken sandwiches, platters, sides, specialty lemonades and milkshakes.
A Halal Burger Menu With More Than Just Patties
The chain follows halal principles, uses meat from halal purveyors and avoids pork. Its bacon and hot dogs are made with beef, while the restaurant does not serve alcohol.
The signature burgers weigh about four ounces and come with crispy, lacy edges, caramelized onions, American cheese and pickles on toasted Martin’s potato buns. CultureMap Dallas also highlights the Slap’N Melt, which stuffs cheese inside the patty, and the Slap N Jack, a double-patty burger with mushrooms and pepper jack cheese.
There will be plenty of backup plans for diners who are not in the mood for a standard cheeseburger. Slap Burger serves fried chicken sandwiches, tenders, loaded chicken platters with mac and cheese or fries, chicken and waffles, hot dogs, cheese fries topped with slap sauce, flavored lemonades and a banana pudding dessert.
Arabian Village Keeps Building Its Foodie Footprint
Adam Shawish, the owner of Arabian Village, is shepherding Slap Burger’s move to DFW after trying the chain during a trip to the Northeast. He told CultureMap that the simple, tightly built burger felt different from the usual Dallas-Fort Worth options and matched the kind of food he wanted nearby.
The restaurant will join a growing cluster of Middle Eastern and international food businesses at Arabian Village, including Arwa Coffee. Community Impact reported that Shawish has been developing the center as a destination for Arab businesses and international dining, with plans for additional growth in the area.
For now, the target is a Richardson opening by Christmas 2026, though no specific debut date or hours have been announced. If the late-night schedule from Slap Burger’s existing locations carries over, North Texas burger fans may soon have another place to chase a crispy-edged meal well after dinner.
