The city should reach the low 70s with north winds around 15 mph before clearer skies arrive later in the day.
Lake Michigan Beaches Remain Dangerous
A Beach Hazards Statement remains in effect through 1 a.m. Monday for Milwaukee County and other southern Wisconsin shoreline communities. Waves of 4 to 8 feet and strong currents are expected, and the National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan is urging people to stay out of the water and away from piers, breakwalls and other exposed areas.
The warning is especially important for anyone planning a beach day, fishing trip or lakeside outing. Onshore winds can make conditions look manageable from the sand while producing powerful currents near structures and along the shoreline.
Clearer Skies Arrive Before A Warmup
Sunday night should be mostly clear, with temperatures falling to about 62 degrees and north winds easing to between 5 and 15 mph. Monday looks sunny and mild, with a high near 77 and light east winds.
Tuesday will bring the week’s first real warmup, with sunshine and a high near 83. The weather then turns more unsettled Tuesday night, when showers and thunderstorms could develop with a 50% chance of rain.
Storm Chances Peak Wednesday
Showers and thunderstorms are likely Wednesday, with mostly cloudy skies, a high near 78 and a 60% chance of precipitation. Rainfall could total between a quarter-inch and half-inch, and forecasters say a few stronger storms may be possible as the system moves through.
Rain chances taper Thursday, when a few showers could linger before 1 p.m. Friday should be mostly sunny near 79 degrees, while Saturday climbs back to about 82 with a slight chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms.
