Kinston police are asking the public to help identify a person captured in images after police say the individual broke into a residence while the homeowner was inside. The department posted the request Tuesday and said information leading to an arrest may qualify for a cash reward.
Police Ask Residents To Send Tips Directly
In a Tuesday Facebook post, the Kinston Police Department said the pictured individual is connected to the home break-in. Police asked residents not to post names in the comments, instead directing anyone with information to contact the department directly or send a private message. The post did not identify the person or announce an arrest.
KPD lists its tips line as 252-939-4020 on the city police page. The Lenoir County Sheriff's Office directs people seeking a faster response to Kinston-Lenoir County Crime Stoppers at 252-523-4444.
No Street Address Released In Public Appeal
Authorities have not publicly released the location of the residence or provided additional details about what happened inside the home. Residents who recognize the person in the images should pass that information to investigators rather than attempting to confront anyone themselves.
