A man armed with a knife robbed a Royal Farms convenience store in Glen Burnie on Wednesday afternoon, demanding cash and merchandise from a clerk before a second employee's intervention startled him into dropping his weapon and running off with stolen goods. Anne Arundel County police responded to the store at 7201 Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard around 1:45 p.m., according to the seed facts of the case.

He is described as a white man in his 20s with a neck tattoo and a medium build, last seen wearing a black t-shirt over a green long-sleeve shirt, white shorts, and a black hat.
Regional Detectives Called In Amid a String of Nearby Holdups
Regional Crimes Unit detectives are investigating the robbery, a specialized division within the Anne Arundel County Police Department's Bureau of Special Operations and Criminal Investigations tasked with identifying and dismantling patterns of repeat criminal activity across the county, per the Anne Arundel County Government. Just two days earlier, on August 10, police investigated a knifepoint robbery at a Royal Farms on Telegraph Road in neighboring Severn, where a male suspect displayed a knife and stole cash and tobacco products before fleeing on foot, according to Hoodline’s earlier report on the Severn robbery. Both cases were referred to the same unit.
The Glen Burnie holdup also follows a July 22 gunpoint robbery at a 7-Eleven on the same stretch of Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard, where two masked men armed with a handgun stole cash before fleeing on foot, a case that also drew Regional Crimes Unit detectives. And on August 3, two retail thieves at a Glen Burnie Dick's Sporting Goods on Ritchie Highway used a Taser on an employee who tried to intervene, then fled with stolen merchandise unharmed. Together, the incidents point to a cluster of armed commercial robberies and weapon-involved retail thefts across northern Anne Arundel County this summer.
This Isn't the Store's First Brush With Trouble
The Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard Royal Farms has a documented history of robbery attempts. On December 25, 2018, police responded to an attempted robbery at the same store after a white male suspect implied he had a weapon, grabbed products, and fled after the clerk refused his cash demands. A different Glen Burnie Royal Farms, at 7908 Ritchie Highway, was hit in July 2025 when two men armed with a knife jumped the counter, an incident that ended with police K-9 units tracking down and arresting a 22-year-old and a 42-year-old suspect. The Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard location has also had lighter moments in its history, having sold a winning $121,527 FAST PLAY Wild Bonus X10 Maryland Lottery ticket in October 2023.
What Wednesday's Robber Could Face
Under Maryland Criminal Law § 3-403, robbery with a dangerous weapon — including displaying a knife during a theft — is a felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison, according to the Maryland General Assembly. Armed robbery is also classified as a crime of violence under state law, meaning a convicted suspect would have to serve a mandatory minimum of 50 percent of any prison sentence before becoming eligible for parole, per FindLaw. That is a steeper standard than simple robbery without a weapon, which carries a 15-year maximum.
