A popular Korean fried chicken chain is opening its third New Jersey location in Ridgefield this Friday, bringing boneless chicken, wings and tteokbokki to a Bergen County borough. Two Box Chicken will begin serving customers at 11 a.m. at 686 Grand Ave., Unit M-2, marking the brand's newest storefront after earlier openings in Englewood and Bloomfield.
The opening comes with some incentives for early risers. Two Box Chicken will offer buy-one-get-one-free on the first 100 boxes on opening day. The chain's menu includes signature options like Yangnyeum sweet and spicy red sauce, Soy Garlic, Honey Brown and Snowing Cheese powder coatings, according to Two Box Chicken. The Ridgefield menu is also expected to include rose tteokbokki and fried cheese balls alongside the boneless chicken and wings.
Two Box Chicken's growth in the region has been building for less than a year. The brand opened its Englewood, New Jersey, restaurant in the second half of 2025, according to Boozy Burbs, which also reported earlier this month on the brand's expansion to Ridgefield. Two Box Chicken describes the Ridgefield location as its third, following its Bloomfield and Englewood openings. The company describes itself as an emerging regional concept that started as a single New Jersey shop and is now actively courting franchisees to expand nationwide.
Why Ridgefield Makes Sense for a Korean Chicken Brand
Ridgefield is the site of Two Box Chicken's newest location. Ridgefield has several Korean restaurants. More recent estimates describe Ridgefield as having a foreign-born population that includes residents originating from Asia, while national figures offer a comparison.
Korean-American communities are also present across the county. Bergen County has a Korean-American community, and larger counties such as Los Angeles and Queens also have Korean populations.
A National Boom in Korean Fried Chicken
The Ridgefield opening also lands amid a broader national interest in Korean dining. Korean restaurants have opened across the country in recent years.
The category's momentum shows no signs of slowing. The global Korean fried chicken restaurant market includes delivery and quick-service channels. The category includes Korean fried chicken and traditional fast-food chicken.
For now, the attention in Ridgefield is on Friday's launch. Two Box Chicken aims to expand across the United States, and its expansion from a single shop to three storefronts in roughly a year suggests the chain intends to keep growing in the region where it now has three storefronts.
