A woman in a red dress walked onto a Lakeland porch, scooped up two Amazon packages, and left as a dark gray four-door vehicle made a three-point turn nearby. Now Lakeland police are asking residents who recognize the woman—or the car—to help identify whoever was involved.
The theft occurred July 16 at about 1:05 p.m., shortly after the packages were delivered. Video shows the woman walking onto the porch, taking both boxes, and leaving, according to LakelandPD's Facebook post.
Police Release Description Of Woman And Vehicle
Police describe the woman as a white female with brown hair pulled into a ponytail. She was wearing sunglasses, a red long-sleeve dress and bangle bracelets on her left arm, and investigators estimate she is about 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs roughly 230 to 245 pounds.
Investigators also want information about a midsize, dark gray vehicle with four doors. The vehicle was seen making a three-point turn in the roadway and leaving the area around the time of the package theft.

Public appeals based on doorbell or surveillance footage are a familiar tactic in Polk County. In a 2023 Lakeland-area package-theft case, the Polk County Sheriff's Office asked residents to help identify a passenger, driver and vehicle, as detailed on the sheriff's case page.
Lakeland police have not announced an arrest or filed charges in the Shearwater Street theft. For now, the clothing, jewelry, two packages and dark gray vehicle remain the main clues investigators have released.
