Sunday Starts Near 100 Before The Heat Builds
Sunday's forecast calls for a high near 100 degrees and a low around 84, with mostly clear skies overnight. Any showers or thunderstorms should be more likely over higher terrain south and east of the valley, though leftover rain, lightning or sudden gusty winds could still affect nearby areas. The National Weather Service said storms that develop could produce localized heavy rain and erratic outflow winds.
Triple-Digit Heat Holds Through The Weekend
Monday climbs to about 103 degrees, followed by 108 Tuesday and 109 Wednesday and Thursday. Overnight lows will remain in the mid-to-upper 80s, including an expected low of 88 Thursday night, leaving limited relief after sunset. The weather service expects widespread Moderate HeatRisk by Thursday, with pockets of Major HeatRisk developing in parts of the Las Vegas Valley.
Small Storm Chances Return Late Week
A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms returns Thursday afternoon, mainly after 11 a.m., with similar chances Friday and Saturday. The odds remain modest, but any storm could bring a quick downpour, lightning or a burst of wind. With temperatures above 100 degrees for much of the week, outdoor plans are best scheduled for earlier in the day, with water and shade close at hand.
