A former Dillard's department store at Golden Triangle Mall in Denton is about to become a sprawling indoor playground for kids and adults alike. Launch Family Entertainment plans to open its newest North Texas location at 2201 S. I-35 on October 30, 2026, taking over more than 30,000 square feet of the mall along the highway.
The Denton location, first announced by Launch Family Entertainment, is being brought to the market by local franchisee Satwinderpal, according to CultureMap Fort Worth. As reported by Community Impact, the venue will feature trampoline courts, a dodgeball attraction, a bouldering wall, an air basketball arena and a soft play area for younger children. The space will also house Krave Restaurant and Bar, which, according to a news release, will serve pizzas, nachos, wings and other food and beverages.
Attractions, interactive games and dining will all live under one roof once the doors open, per Community Impact's reporting. Details on ticket pricing or membership options were not included in the announcement.
A National Chain's Texas Expansion
Launch got its start in 2012 in Warwick, Rhode Island, when founders Robert and Erin Arnold opened a single trampoline park before growing the brand into a multi-attraction family entertainment chain, according to Launch Family Entertainment. Craig Erlich has served as the company's CEO since June 2023, having previously led Dallas-based Brix Holdings, the company notes.
Denton is only the latest stop in Launch's aggressive push into North Texas. The chain opened a location at Lakepointe Crossing in Lewisville in June 2025 and another in Arlington in May 2026, according to reporting on the company's expansion. Earlier this year, Launch also introduced a smaller-format park model designed to give franchisees more real estate flexibility and let the brand move into a wider range of suburban markets.
That flexibility has helped fuel demand nationally. The global family entertainment center market was valued at $34.57 billion in 2026 and is projected to grow at a compound annual rate of 6.75% through 2031, driven largely by demand for weather-independent, experience-based leisure destinations, per research from Mordor Intelligence. Hoodline previously reported on a similar Launch buildout in Centennial, Colorado, where the chain took over 35,000 square feet featuring trampolines, bowling and an on-site Krave restaurant.
A Mall With Deep Denton Roots
Golden Triangle Mall has been a fixture of Denton since it opened on September 10, 1980, as the first enclosed shopping mall in Denton County. Its opening drew celebrity guests including Denton native and former Miss America Phyllis George and actor Clayton Moore, according to the Denton Public Library. The mall's name traces back to a 1960s regional branding campaign by the City of Denton and its Chamber of Commerce, which promoted Denton as the northern point of an economic “Golden Triangle” formed with Dallas and Fort Worth.
The mall has increasingly leaned on experiential tenants to keep foot traffic strong as traditional department stores have faded. Property managers leased 55,606 square feet to Fitness Connection back in 2019, according to GlobeSt, part of a broader shift toward active recreation and health concepts filling old anchor spaces. Launch's arrival in the former Dillard's continues that pattern, and it comes amid other big retail moves in Denton — Hoodline has also tracked a major H-E-B redevelopment reshaping a landmark corner of the city.
Whether the new trampoline park can meaningfully revitalize a mall that has stood since 1980 remains to be seen, as does how well franchisee Satwinderpal's venue competes with other entertainment options in Denton County. For now, families in the area have a fall opening date circled: October 30, 2026, at 2201 S. I-35.
