A man suffered a gunshot wound to his lower body early Saturday in Long Beach, then got himself to a hospital for treatment. The injury was not considered life-threatening, but police were still working to determine who fired the shot and why.
Officers were dispatched to a local hospital at about 5:15 a.m. after the victim arrived, according to the Long Beach Police Department. Investigators located a crime scene and listed the incident as a hit shooting in the department’s preliminary blotter.
Suspect Information Remains Unclear
The shooting occurred in the 2300 block of East Ocean Boulevard, MyNewsLA.com reported. Police have not released a suspect description, motive or additional circumstances surrounding the attack.
