Louisville Fog Gone in a Flash as Sunny Skies Tease Sizzlin’ Weekend

Louisville started Monday with a few clouds and temperatures near 65 degrees, while patchy fog is forecast before sunshine. The fog should burn off quickly, giving way to a sunny afternoon and a high near 84, as reported by National Weather Service.

Winds will increase from the northwest and gust up to 19 knots through the day, with no rain expected. Monday night will be mostly clear, and temperatures will fall to around 60.

Heat Builds By The Weekend

Tuesday looks sunny and a little warmer, with a high near 86 and a low around 61 under partly cloudy skies. Wednesday and Thursday will push into the upper 80s; Wednesday is expected to be mostly sunny, while Thursday will be mostly sunny followed by a slight chance of thunderstorms.

Friday should turn sunny again with a high near 88, but the weekend will feel more like late August, with highs around 90 Saturday and 91 Sunday. Rain chances remain low, although Sunday night is expected to be partly cloudy. The weekend forecast includes warm daytime highs.

Louisville Metro Government says the city’s tree-canopy goal is about 45 percent, compared with a current canopy of 37 percent. Louisville Metro Government reports that temperatures were up to 10 degrees Fahrenheit higher in formerly redlined neighborhoods where tree-canopy coverage was 22 percent or lower.
