Louisville just got another place to grab a burrito, bowl or quesadilla without committing to the full parking-lot pilgrimage. Chipotle has opened a new restaurant near the Watterson Expressway and Brownsboro Road, and this one comes with the chain’s increasingly common Chipotlane pickup setup.
The new location is at 4910 U.S. Highway 42, where guests can place an order digitally and collect it from the drive-thru lane without leaving their cars, according to WLKY. The restaurant is open daily from 10:45 a.m. to 10 p.m.
The Chipotlane Is For Pickup, Not Ordering
Despite the drive-thru design, customers cannot pull up and order from a menu board or speaker. The lane is reserved for mobile and online orders that have already been placed, making it more of a burrito handoff lane than a traditional fast-food drive-thru.
That distinction is part of Chipotle’s broader push toward digital ordering and faster pickup. In its first-quarter 2026 results, the company said it opened 49 restaurants during the quarter, including 42 with Chipotlanes, and expects about 80% of its company-owned openings this year to include the format, according to Chipotle.
Louisville’s Chipotle Footprint Keeps Growing
The U.S. 42 opening follows another Louisville-area expansion on Preston Highway, where the city’s second Chipotlane opened in 2025, WLKY previously reported. The company also made Louisville the home of its 500th Chipotlane in 2022, giving the city an unusually early look at the chain’s drive-thru strategy.
For nearby residents, the appeal is fairly simple: order ahead, skip the indoor line and retrieve the food from the car. Just remember that the lane is not a place to improvise a last-second steak-burrito order—the app gets the first word.
