Two men were shot Monday morning near a McDonald’s on Georgia Avenue NW, sending both to a hospital as police cordoned off the restaurant’s entrance. Their conditions were not immediately known, and the circumstances remained unclear while investigators worked the scene.
Officers responded around 11:49 a.m. to the 7400 block of Georgia Avenue NW and found both men with gunshot wounds, according to 7News. Police said both victims were conscious and breathing when officers arrived.
D.C. Fire and EMS transported the men to a hospital for treatment. Their injuries were not described in the initial report, and police had not released a motive or suspect information.

Crime scene tape surrounded the front of the McDonald’s as officers investigated, but it was not immediately clear whether the gunfire erupted inside the restaurant or somewhere on the property, the station reported.
The investigation remained ongoing Monday afternoon. Authorities had not announced additional details about what led to the shooting or whether anyone had been arrested.
