Aries Spears is coming back to Las Vegas, and this time he's taking the stage at the Pearl Concert Theater inside Palms Casino Resort on April 2, 2027. The comedian and eight-season MADtv veteran will perform a single 8 p.m. show, with tickets starting at $35 before fees and going on sale to the general public Friday, August 28 at noon Pacific time.
According to FOX5 Vegas, presale tickets are running this week, and producers are suggesting fans buy early given the expected demand. Tickets will be available through AXS.com once they go live. Spears is known for his eight seasons on MADtv, where he built a reputation for sharp celebrity impressions, including takes on Michael Jackson, Kanye West, Eddie Murphy and Shaquille O'Neal, per the same report.
A Career Built on Impressions and Sketch Comedy
Spears spent eight seasons on FOX's MADtv from 1997 to 2005, appearing in 198 episodes — making him the second-longest-serving cast member in the show's 14-season run behind only Michael McDonald, according to Wikipedia. He joined the series in its third season and became known for his impressions of stars including Jay-Z and Denzel Washington. After leaving MADtv, Spears was selected by Damon Wayans in 2006 to join the principal cast of the Showtime sketch series The Underground, expanding his sketch comedy résumé onto premium cable.
Beyond sketch television, Spears has acting credits in films including Malcolm X and Jerry Maguire, as well as a role on CSI: Miami, per the FOX5 Vegas report. On the stand-up side, he released his debut comedy project, a two-disc album titled Aries Spears: I Ain't Scared!, in September 2005, and has since put out several stand-up specials, including Hollywood, Look I'm Smiling and Comedy Blueprint.
From Teenage Prodigy to Vegas Headliner
Spears started performing stand-up at age 14 in New Jersey and New York, cutting his teeth at Harlem's Uptown Comedy Club before relocating to Los Angeles in 1992, where he became a regular at The Comedy Store and The Laugh Factory. He has kept up a steady presence in Las Vegas over the years, with past headline dates at Wiseguys at Town Square in March 2026 and the Suncoast Showroom back in May 2016.
These days, Spears also co-hosts the twice-weekly comedy podcast Spears & Steinberg alongside fellow stand-up comedian Andy Steinberg, producing regular audio and video episodes along with subscriber content that keeps him connected to fans between tour stops.
Palms Casino's Growing Comedy Lineup
The Pearl Concert Theater seats between 2,263 and 2,500 guests depending on stage configuration, with no seat more than 150 feet from the stage. The venue originally opened inside Palms Casino Resort in March 2007 and now sits inside a resort with a distinct ownership story: Palms was purchased for $650 million in 2021 by the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians and reopened in April 2022, becoming the first Las Vegas casino resort fully owned and operated by a Native American tribe, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal. The property had sat closed for two years following pandemic shutdowns under previous owner Red Rock Resorts.
Palms named Stephen Thayer general manager in September 2024, following the resignation of Cynthia Kiser Murphey, who had guided the resort through its historic 2022 reopening. Thayer previously served as general manager of The Strat in Las Vegas.
Spears' upcoming date adds to a growing run of high-profile comedy bookings at the Pearl. The theater is also set to host Big Boy's Comedy Fiesta in October, co-headlined by George Lopez and Marlon Wayans, underscoring the venue's focus on booking well-known television and film comedy stars alongside its regular slate of musical residencies and sporting events.
