Disney has revealed the full menu for a new pop-up restaurant opening at The Diamond Horseshoe in Liberty Square at Magic Kingdom park, swapping out the venue's old family-style dinners for craft cocktails, beer and small plates with a frontier twist. The restaurant opens October 4, and the lineup includes a bourbon-and-cold-brew cocktail called the Coal'd Fashioned, glazed sticky ribs with cowboy beans, and a charcuterie board loaded with cured beef, candied bacon and smoked pork.

The menu overhaul was first detailed by Cleveland.com, which reported that the new frontier-themed spread will include small plates, cocktails, beer and specialty beverages. A Disney news release accompanying the announcement leaned into the western theme, declaring, “I don't know about you, but this certainly has my boots stompin' and my stomach grumblin'! Saddle up because it's time to look at the kitchen's newest headliners.” Menu offerings remain subject to change and availability, according to the same release.

What's Actually on the Menu

The small-plates lineup leans savory and shareable. There's queso fundido with barbecue burnt ends served alongside warm tortilla chips, sweet golden corn fritters with cilantro ranch dressing and red chili honey, a chipotle chicken tostada topped with queso fresco, lime crema and pickled cactus salsa, and a mini hot dog platter featuring pastry-wrapped mini hot dogs, tortilla chips and queso.

On the drink side, the Cactus Rose Margarita mixes Lalo Blanco tequila with prickly pear, lime and agave, while the Rattler Rum Punch combines Bacardí Superior rum with orange, pineapple, lime and passion fruit and arrives with a sweet-and-spicy rim. The High Plains Huckleberry cocktail pairs 44° North Mountain Huckleberry vodka with crème de cassis liqueur, lemon juice and cranberry. Non-alcoholic options include the Enchanting Ember Lemonade, made with Minute Maid Premium Lemonade, strawberry and hot honey, and the Enchanted Grove Lime Splash, blending Minute Maid Limeade with cucumber and mint.

A Saloon That's Seen It All

The Diamond Horseshoe has occupied its Liberty Square-Frontierland border spot since Magic Kingdom's opening day, October 1, 1971, when it debuted as The Diamond Horseshoe Revue, an Old West saloon show modeled after Disneyland's Golden Horseshoe Revue and launched with help from Disney legend Wally Boag, according to Axis Travel Group. The pop-up's October 4 debut lands in the immediate wake of that 55th anniversary, as Disney Tourist Blog notes.

Before pausing table service in May, the venue had mostly served as overflow dining for neighboring Liberty Tree Tavern, sharing a kitchen and dishing out family-style turkey and pot roast rather than its own independent menu, per the same outlet's reporting. Immediately before this pop-up transition, the space hosted Jessie's Roundup: A Rip-Roarin' Revue!, an interactive Toy Story-themed dance party that ran from May 24 through September 8 as part of Disney's Cool Kids' Summer campaign, according to BlogMickey.com. That was the venue's first regular live entertainment stage production in more than 20 years, following the 2005 closure of Goofy's Country Dancin' Jamboree, the outlet reported.

Booze, Beer and a Broader Bar Trend

The cocktail-forward menu continues a gradual loosening of Magic Kingdom's once-strict alcohol rules. The park banned all alcohol from its 1971 opening until 2012, when Be Our Guest Restaurant introduced beer and wine, with a full table-service rollout following in 2018, according to Paste Magazine. The Diamond Horseshoe's beer list draws from that expanded lineup, offering Samuel Adams Boston Lager, Yuengling Traditional Lager and Cigar City Jai Alai IPA, while the wine selection includes Nino Franco Rustico Prosecco, Fess Parker Riesling and MacMurray Estate Pinot Noir.

The shift toward walk-up cocktail concepts also follows the August 2025 opening of The Beak & Barrel in Adventureland, which became the park's first standalone lounge to serve alcohol without requiring a sit-down meal, per AllEars.Net. Disney is leaning further into that lounge strategy with drinks like In Holiday Fashion, a bourbon cocktail with rosemary syrup, cranberry and cinnamon, and the Whinnyin' Whiskey Lemonade, made with Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey, Aperol liqueur, strawberry purée, Minute Maid Premium Lemonade and basil. Non-alcoholic sippers round things out, including the Caramel Root Beer with Sweet Cream and an Orange Cream Soda made with Fanta Orange, vanilla and cream.

Reservations, Timing and What's Still Unknown

Advance Dining Reservations open on September 29, using Disney's standard reservation window, though walk-up waitlists will also be accepted. Seating inside The Diamond Horseshoe remains among the smallest capacities of any Magic Kingdom restaurant, according to BlogMickey.com's reporting. The pop-up will not be open during Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, but Disney has confirmed it will operate during Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party events later in the year.

Disney has not announced an official closing date for the limited-time concept, leaving open how long it will stay in Liberty Square before the company decides whether to make the format permanent or bring back a stage show. The menu debut also arrives as the surrounding Frontierland undergoes its largest physical transformation in decades, following the July 2025 closure of Tom Sawyer Island and Rivers of America to make way for a new Cars-themed Piston Peak area and a Villains-themed land, per Mouse Hacking's reporting.
