Sebastian Maniscalco is back on the Strip this weekend, and he's bringing the same immigrant-family material that turned him into one of comedy's biggest global draws. The superstar comedian returns to the Encore Theater inside Wynn Las Vegas for four shows this Friday and Saturday, just months after marking his 100th headlining performance at the venue. Ahead of the run, he sat down to talk about his immigrant upbringing and what he's learned about raising his own kids.
Maniscalco joined ARC Las Vegas and reporter Evan Schreiber for a one-on-one interview timed to the shows, according to KSNV. Reflecting on his years playing the city, he told the station, "The energy in this city is like no other." The comedian also touched on his comedic influences and what repeated trips to Las Vegas have taught him, per the same interview.
A Milestone Night at Wynn's Intimate Encore Theater
The Encore Theater, where Maniscalco performs, seats just 1,480 people, a fraction of the arenas he typically fills across the country. Wynn Las Vegas operates the venue in partnership with AEG Presents to host headliner residencies, according to Vegas4Locals.com.
Maniscalco's ties to the room go back further than his official Wynn debut in 2020. He first admired the Encore Theater in the early 2000s while performing across the street at the old Stardust Hotel, and he celebrated his 100th headlining show there in late May, as reported by Las Vegas Weekly.
Four Shows This Weekend, More Dates Added for October
Maniscalco's current run brings four performances to the Encore Theater this Friday and Saturday, with shows scheduled for 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. each night. He's already set to return for four more dates on October 9 and 10, per the interview. It keeps him bouncing between one of the Strip's smallest stages and the arena circuit that made him famous.
From Sold-Out Arenas to the Strip's Smallest Room
That arena circuit includes a record-setting run at Madison Square Garden, where Maniscalco sold out five consecutive shows during his It Ain't Right tour, drawing a combined 91,336 attendees, according to Rocket Arena.
The tour also topped Billboard's Midyear 2025 Boxscore as the highest-grossing comedy tour of the year, and Maniscalco was the only comedian to land on Pollstar's Top 20 Global Concert Tours list in 2025, per Ticketmaster.
The Long Road From Waiting Tables to Headlining
Long before selling out arenas, Maniscalco spent seven years, from 1998 to 2005, waiting tables at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills while working open mics around Los Angeles, according to the Los Angeles Times.
His break came when Mitzi Shore, the legendary owner of The Comedy Store in Hollywood, watched him audition and immediately made him a paid regular, as recounted on Apple Podcasts.
Maniscalco later expanded into film, co-writing, producing and starring alongside Robert De Niro in 2023's About My Father, a comedy loosely based on his relationship with his real-life Italian immigrant father, Salvo, per the same Ticketmaster profile.
Family Material Fuels the Vegas Act
Maniscalco's willingness to open new venues extends beyond the Strip. In August 2024, he became the first comedian in history to headline the Intuit Dome, the 18,000-plus-seat arena in Inglewood, California that's home to the NBA's LA Clippers, the Los Angeles Times reported.
His debut memoir, Stay Hungry, published in February 2018, chronicled his two-decade climb from odd jobs and small clubs to a spot on Forbes' top-earning lists, according to Google Play Books.
