McKinney's newest workout destination is officially open, bringing a 40,000-square-foot Crunch Fitness club, serious lifting equipment and enough recovery amenities to make skipping leg day feel slightly less defensible. The $12 million facility began welcoming members on Thursday along Eldorado Parkway.

The new gym opened during a soft launch Thursday morning, according to Community Impact. The facility includes cardio equipment, free weights, weight machines, locker rooms with showers, a boxing area and group fitness classes, with three monthly membership options available.

What McKinney Members Get Inside

Crunch's McKinney lists Olympic lifting platforms, dumbbells weighing up to 125 pounds, a functional training area, HIITZone workouts, cycling, personal training and group classes. Members can also use recovery-focused amenities including a sauna, HydroMassage and tanning services.

The franchise operator, Southwest Fitness Holdings, said in PR Newswire that the club will offer 24-hour access five days a week and is expected to create more than 70 local jobs. Memberships start at $9.99 per month, according to the announcement.

The opening also comes as the Eldorado Parkway corridor continues to fill in with national retailers and restaurants. Hoodline previously reported that Crunch is part of the broader Eldorado Neighborhood Shops development, alongside tenants such as Chipotle and a planned Trader Joe's.

The grand opening celebration is scheduled for today from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with group fitness demonstrations, personal training specials, local vendors and giveaways planned for the community.
