McKinney's fall calendar is getting a little more pour-friendly: the annual McKinney Wine & Music Festival is returning for its 10th year with free admission, live music and an afternoon built around tasting stations. The event is set for October 24 at District 121, giving North Texas wine fans a reason to make a Saturday of it.
The festival will run from 2 to 6 p.m. at District 121, according to CultureMap Dallas. General admission is free, while the optional wine-tasting pass costs $45.
That pass includes a souvenir wine glass and 20 tasting tickets, which guests can use across 15 tasting stations, according to Eventbrite. The listing says the full music lineup is still coming, so attendees will have to wait a little longer to learn which bands will take the stage.
Fifteen Tasting Stations And Live Music At District 121
Along with the wine, organizers are planning live performances on the Credit Union of Texas Stage, plus local vendors, sponsor activations and a photo booth, CultureMap Dallas reports. The format gives visitors plenty to do between pours, including browsing and grabbing food from the restaurants surrounding the entertainment district.
District 121 describes itself as an open-air dining and entertainment destination with restaurants, patios and live events, while the McKinney Wine & Music Festival is promoting more than 100 wines and a celebration of a decade of wine, music and community in McKinney.
Free Admission And A Local Nonprofit Tie-In
The festival's Eventbrite listing says parking will be free and the event will be held rain or shine, with no refunds. Organizers also say the festival will support One Heart McKinney and The Warriors Keep!, adding a community-benefit angle to the October afternoon.
