A 36-year-old suspect is in custody after a double shooting in Milwaukee’s Roosevelt Grove neighborhood injured two people, police said. The 25-year-old and 37-year-old victims were taken to a hospital and are expected to survive.
The shooting happened near 46th and Melvina streets on Milwaukee’s northwest side, according to WISN 12 News. Milwaukee police said the suspect was arrested, though the initial report did not identify what led to the gunfire or whether the victims and suspect knew one another.
Charges Referred To Milwaukee County Prosecutors
The scene sits inside Roosevelt Grove, a neighborhood the City of Milwaukee describes as running from 35th Street to Sherman Park Boulevard and from Capitol Drive to Keefe Avenue.
Milwaukee police referred charges against the suspect to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office, WISN reported. A charging decision and additional details about the circumstances of the shooting were not included in the initial update.
