The bigger concern is along Milwaukee County’s Lake Michigan shoreline, where a Beach Hazards Statement runs from 8 a.m. through 7 p.m. Saturday. The National Weather Service says waves of 3 to 5 feet and dangerous currents are expected, with strong onshore winds adding to the risk.
Swimmers should stay out of the water and away from piers, breakwalls and other exposed spots. Rip currents are possible, and the safest beach plan Saturday may involve admiring the lake from a respectable distance.
Showers Return Overnight Before A Warmer Sunday
Saturday night will remain mostly cloudy, with a slight chance of rain around midnight and a better chance of showers and thunderstorms afterward. The overnight low will be near 70, and rainfall should generally stay light, with amounts below a tenth of an inch.
Sunday brings warmer conditions, with a high near 84 and a slight chance of showers or thunderstorms before 4 p.m. The weekend’s unsettled pattern should give way to sunnier, more comfortable weather Monday, when Milwaukee is expected to reach about 79 degrees.
Quiet Start To Week Gives Way To Midweek Storms
Tuesday will be partly sunny and warm, with a high near 82 and only a slight chance of afternoon showers. The more active weather arrives Tuesday night into Wednesday, when showers and thunderstorms have an 80% chance and Wednesday’s high is expected to fall to around 73.
Conditions should turn mostly sunny and cooler Thursday, with a high near 70, followed by a mostly sunny Friday near 72. For Saturday, though, the combination of muggy air, scattered showers and hazardous lake conditions makes timing and location especially important for outdoor plans.
