Baltimore is starting Monday under thick humidity and a chance of thunderstorms, with temperatures climbing from the mid-70s toward 88 degrees. The forecast calls for mostly cloudy skies and another round of potentially heavy rain later in the day.
Storms Could Bring Briefly Heavy Rain
Showers and thunderstorms are possible through the afternoon, with the best chances arriving before and during the midday hours and continuing into the afternoon. Some storms could produce between a quarter-inch and half-inch of rain, while slow-moving downpours may trigger localized flash flooding in urban or poor-drainage areas.
Southwest winds will stay relatively light at around 7 mph. The broader forecast from the National Weather Service says stronger storms remain possible across the region, even after an overnight Flood Watch was dropped.
Cooler And Drier Tonight
Rain chances ease this evening as a front moves through, leaving Baltimore partly cloudy overnight. Temperatures should fall to around 69 degrees, with north winds near 5 mph and much less humidity by Tuesday morning.
Brief Break Tuesday Before Heat Builds
Tuesday looks like the week's best outdoor window, with partly sunny skies, a high near 86 and only a small chance of rain. The unsettled pattern returns Wednesday, when showers and thunderstorms become possible again and linger through the weekend.
Highs are expected to reach about 91 degrees Thursday through Saturday and 90 degrees Sunday. Increasing humidity could push heat indexes close to 100 degrees across the metro area later in the week, while afternoon and evening storms remain a recurring possibility.
