A four-year-old girl drowned Monday afternoon at a Winter Haven apartment complex, police said, in a tragedy that left investigators with few public details.
The drowning was reported at about 4:05 p.m. at the Haven at Deer Lake complex, according to Tampa Bay 28, which cited the Winter Haven Police Department. Police identified the victim only as a four-year-old girl.
What Police Have Released
The initial report did not say whether the girl was found in a swimming pool, a lake or another water source, and it did not describe the emergency response. Authorities had not released the child’s name or announced arrests, charges or additional details about the investigation.
