A bullet tore into a Hillsborough County home Saturday evening and struck someone inside, sending the person to a hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening. Deputies said there was no continuing danger to the public after the shooting.
According to a report by Tampa Bay 28, Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office dispatchers received a 911 call at about 7:25 p.m. after the bullet traveled into the residence. The victim was hospitalized, and officials said the injuries were not life-threatening. No suspect, arrest or explanation for the gunfire was included in the initial account.
What Deputies Have Confirmed
The episode echoes a March 2025 case in which bullets struck a home in the River Bay Mobile Home Park while several people were inside, according to FOX 13 News. No one was injured in that incident, which deputies described at the time as likely isolated and targeted.
In the latest case, HCSO officials said there was no ongoing threat to the public. The sheriff’s office has not publicly identified the home, the person who was hurt or anyone believed to have fired the round.
