A human skull and additional bones found in a wooded stretch of Kingsville more than two years ago still have no name, and Baltimore County detectives are asking the public to help solve the grim identity puzzle.
The remains are believed to belong to a Hispanic woman who was between 20 and 30 years old. Investigators have not determined how she died, leaving both her identity and the circumstances surrounding her death unresolved.
DNA Work Has Not Yet Produced An Identity
According to WMAR-2 News, police discovered the remains in the Kingsville area on March 9 and March 27, 2024. Detectives conducted DNA analysis and genetic genealogy, but those efforts have not led to an identification.
The discovery was made along a wooded area in Baltimore County, where investigators found a skull along with other bones. Police have not publicly linked the remains to a specific missing-person report or announced evidence indicating foul play.
Police Say A Missing-Person Tip Could Break The Case
The Baltimore County Police Department has previously described its cold-case work as involving updated technology, unsolved killings and missing-person investigations. That approach has produced breakthroughs elsewhere in the county, including the 2025 identification of Leoria Smith, a woman whose remains had gone unidentified for nearly three decades, as reported by CBS Baltimore.
Anyone who knows of someone who disappeared around the time of the Kingsville discovery is urged to contact Baltimore County Police at 410-887-4636. Even a partial memory about a missing relative, friend or acquaintance could give detectives the lead they have not been able to find through forensic testing alone, WMAR-2 News reported.
