Napa’s annual Town & Country Fair is bringing back the carnival rides, deep-fried treats and livestock displays this week, with a colorful new attraction joining the usual summer mix. The four-day event also packs in national touring acts, local performers, karaoke, line dancing and enough live entertainment to make a single lap around the fairgrounds feel wildly unrealistic.
The Napa Town & Country Fair opens Thursday at the Napa Valley Expo and runs through Sunday, with evening hours on Thursday and Friday and earlier gates on the weekend. The fair’s official site lists gates opening at 3 PM on Thursday and Friday, then at 1 PM on Saturday and next Sunday.
Music fans get a full schedule of recognizable names and tribute acts. Napa Kids lists the Little Mermen Disney tribute and a Coldplay tribute on Thursday, Niko Moon on Friday, Lonestar on Saturday and a Sunday lineup featuring Noel Torres, Regulo Caro and Gerardo “El Jerry” Coronel.
A New Interactive Gallery Gives Kids The Spotlight
The most notable change this year is the Young Creators Gallery, which replaces the fair’s former junior arts and crafts department with a more immersive experience. According to the Napa Valley Register, the gallery includes a glowing light tunnel, a neon garden, a chromatic shadow exhibit and illuminated sensory tables filled with sand and X-rays.
There is also a Lite-Brite-style display made from recycled water bottles filled with colored water, along with a garden-themed Fourth of July parade float built by local youth. The project was organized by Cierra Warner in partnership with the Napa Valley Education Foundation and Nimbus Arts, giving the fair’s younger creators a room that sounds less like a display case and more like a small indoor wonderland.
Classic Fair Attractions Get A Few New Twists
Outside the gallery, visitors can still expect carnival rides, food vendors, agricultural exhibits and the youth-raised livestock that anchors the fair’s rural side. The official fair information also points visitors toward ticket sales and the daily gate schedule, while the event’s traditional mix of exhibits and entertainment remains spread across the Napa Valley Expo.
The fair’s new Palisades Saloon attraction will offer line dancing and karaoke, according to the Napa Valley Register. Ag Alley will feature youth-raised animals and live glass-blowing demonstrations, while the Locals Live stage is set to showcase more than 25 homegrown acts spanning singer-songwriters, blues, jazz, punk rock, youth mariachi and ballet folklórico.
Friday night brings the Fierce and Fabulous drag revue, followed by a DJ Rotten Robbie dance party, while the Bandstand stage rotates through an Uptown Funk tribute, ’80s favorites and other live sets. In other words, Napa’s fair is once again offering the classic county-fair formula—with a little more neon, karaoke and stage glitter this time around.
