Nearly 250 classic cars and trucks will roll into South Point's exhibit hall Saturday for a free, family-friendly show that turns vehicle registration fees into grants for Southern Nevada children's nonprofits. The South Point Car & Truck Show runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. inside the air-conditioned hall, giving collectors and spectators a break from the desert heat while browsing everything from vintage Bel Airs to modern restomods.

According to KLAS 8 News Now, the lineup includes a 1956 Chevy Bel Air and a 1957 Chevy Bel Air alongside a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro built as a restomod with a custom paint job and, notably, Lexus seats swapped into the classic muscle car. Sheri Goldstrom, who helps organize and present the show, is bringing her own 1970 Chevelle SS 454 to display, per the same report. Goldstrom is also an active local stock car racer who won her first NASCAR Outlaw Factory Stock main event at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway Bullring in April 2023, according to Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

How the Show Raises Money for Kids

Registration for participating vehicles costs $50, and display cars must arrive with no more than a quarter-tank of fuel to satisfy indoor exhibit hall fire safety rules, according to Speedway Children's Charities. Attendees help decide the winners themselves, casting votes across categories including People's Choice Car, People's Choice Pickup, Children's Choice, the South Point Award, and the Star Nursery Award, which presents the event alongside South Point. Paulette Anderson is associated with Speedway Children's Charities, the organization behind the fundraiser, per KLAS.

Speedway Children's Charities raises money for children in the community and distributes those funds to local nonprofit organizations that provide services and resources to kids across the region, KLAS reports. The Las Vegas chapter's reach is substantial: in December 2025, it distributed $493,753.26 in grants to 98 Southern Nevada youth nonprofits during its annual ceremony, according to Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Since the chapter was established in 1999, it has distributed more than $7 million to local children's causes across Southern Nevada, the speedway notes.

Who the Grants Are Meant to Help

The Las Vegas chapter prioritizes 501(c)(3) charities serving Southern Nevada children, with particular consideration given to organizations supporting foster youth, orphans, homeless children, and victims of sex trafficking, per Speedway Children's Charities' published grant guidelines. The organization traces back to 1982, when Speedway Motorsports founder Bruton Smith created it following the death of his young son; it now spans 11 track-affiliated chapters nationwide that together granted more than $4 million in 2024, according to the charity.

Out-of-town collectors have an incentive to stick around, too. South Point Hotel Casino & Spa offered registered participants and attendees special room rates of $65 midweek and $120 on weekends using a dedicated booking code for the event weekend, per Speedway Children's Charities. It remains unclear exactly how much this year's registration fees and vendor activity will raise, a total that organizers say will combine with upcoming track fundraisers like Laps for Charity to fund the chapter's late-year grant cycle.

Part of a Growing Off-Strip Car Show Scene

Event partner Nostalgia Street Rods, a private Las Vegas car museum built from a collection amassed over 50 years by hot-rodding icon Art Goldstrom, lends additional vehicles and expertise to the show. Goldstrom passed away in March 2024, and the museum is now managed by his daughter, Sheri Goldstrom, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

The South Point show fits a broader Southern Nevada pattern of off-Strip casino resorts hosting local car exhibitions during the summer months, as Hoodline has reported on Silverton Casino Lodge's Nightmare in Vegas show, alongside Henderson Hot Rod Days. Saturday's event is free to attend, indoors in air conditioning, and open to families throughout the day.
