A North Jersey restaurateur known for his large pizzas is bringing his pizza game to Bergen County. Robby Corujo, the owner behind Wayne Ale House in Wayne and Little Falls Tavern in Little Falls, has announced that a new pizzeria called Robby's Pizza is coming soon to Ridgewood, with a focus on crispy sourdough pies.
“Robby's Pizza is getting ready to fire up the ovens!” Corujo said, announcing the new concept, according to Daily Voice. No opening date has been set yet for the Ridgewood location, but the announcement signals another concept for a restaurateur with restaurants in North Jersey.
A Pizza Empire Built on Big Pies and Bigger Reviews
Corujo owns Wayne Ale House, which opened at 611 Ratzer Road in Wayne in August 2023 and built its menu around massive 24-inch New York-style pies alongside thin-crust tavern pies, according to Patch. He also owns Little Falls Tavern, which serves 12-inch bar pies.
Both restaurants earned a moment in the spotlight after Barstool Sports personality Dave Portnoy reviewed pizza from each on his One Bite platform. Portnoy scored the 24-inch cheese pie from Wayne Ale House a 7.6 after it sat in a delivery box for more than eight minutes and may have been less crispy, per the same account from Daily Voice — a review Corujo missed in person because he was not at the restaurant when Portnoy stopped by. Corujo later said he wished Portnoy had tried his tavern bar pie instead. When Portnoy returned to review Little Falls Tavern's 12-inch tavern bar pie in June, it scored a 7.8.
Closing a Nearly 20-Year Clifton Restaurant
Before either of those reviews went viral, Corujo owned Public House 46 along Route 46 in Clifton, a restaurant that closed in 2025 after nearly 20 years in business. Limited parking at the site prevented Corujo from running the establishment the way he wanted, forcing its closure.
Corujo retained the municipal liquor license from Public House 46 after it closed, preserving legal flexibility to open future restaurant or bar concepts in Passaic County. It remains an open question whether Corujo plans to relocate that license into a separate concept while Robby's Pizza operates as a dedicated food-focused pizzeria in Ridgewood.
Stepping Into a Crowded Ridgewood Pizza Scene
Robby's Pizza will enter a Ridgewood market that already has its share of established names. S. Egidio has specialized in natural sourdough Neapolitan wood-fired pizza and fresh pasta since opening in the village in 2014, importing specialty ingredients directly from Italy. Santoni's Pizzeria & Restaurant, meanwhile, expanded to 88 Godwin Avenue in Ridgewood in 2013, bringing a pizzeria and Italian restaurant to the village from its original Garfield location.
The timing adds another entrant to New Jersey's pizza scene. For now, Corujo has not released an opening date for Robby's Pizza, but the sourdough-focused concept marks his most direct entry yet into Bergen County's food-forward pizza market.
