A man in his 30s was stabbed multiple times during a fight on San Antonio's North Side Wednesday night, and police say the attackers ran off with his bicycle. The confrontation broke out around 9:30 p.m. in the 11100 block of Baywood Drive, near Lockhill Selma Road, according to San Antonio police.
According to KSAT, the man was riding his bicycle on Silver Oaks when a male and female suspect approached him. A fight broke out between the man and the pair, and at some point the male suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim several times, officers told the outlet. The suspects then allegedly fled the scene with the victim's bicycle, per police.
Baywood Drive sits in a commercial and residential corridor near the Woods of Castle Hills in ZIP code 78213, an area threaded with nearby professional offices and residential developments, per court records reviewed as part of this report. The victim was taken to a local hospital for further treatment, per the San Antonio Police Department, though his current condition has not been detailed publicly. It also remains unclear whether surveillance cameras from nearby businesses or homes captured the suspects fleeing with the bicycle, and the identities and motive behind the attack have not been released.
What Charges Could Follow
The legal exposure for the suspects, if identified and arrested, could hinge on how investigators and prosecutors characterize the incident. Under Texas Penal Code Section 22.02, inflicting bodily harm with a deadly weapon constitutes aggravated assault, a second-degree felony carrying 2 to 20 years in prison and a fine up to $10,000, according to Texas Criminal Justice. But if prosecutors determine the bicycle theft was central to the attack, the case could instead be pursued as aggravated robbery. The stabbing lands amid a complicated local crime picture. Citywide crime in San Antonio dropped 13% in 2025, with violent crime falling 9% and property crime decreasing 18.1%, according to police data reported by KSAT.
