A teenager is recovering after an apparent accidental shooting in northeast Bexar County, where deputies say three juveniles were involved and the victim was hit in the lower body. The teen is expected to make a full recovery, but investigators have not yet released a detailed account of how the gun went off.
The shooting was reported Saturday evening near Glen Fair and Glen Echo. On Sunday, KSAT reported that the Bexar County Sheriff's Office said the three juveniles included the injured teen.
Authorities have not said who was handling the firearm, whether it was legally owned or what led up to the discharge. No further details were immediately available, and the investigation remains ongoing.
A separate San Antonio shooting recently brought charges
The incident comes less than a month after a separate accidental shooting on San Antonio's West Side killed a 16-year-old and led to a manslaughter charge against an 18-year-old, Hoodline reported. That case involved a fatality and an adult defendant; officials have not announced charges in the northeast Bexar County shooting.
