A Palm Coast man's alleged decision to turn a traffic dispute into a gun display has landed him in jail — and put a previous road-rage firearm case back under the spotlight. Joshua Alexander Walker, 33, was arrested Friday after two motorists told police he pointed a handgun at them on U.S. 1. Investigators say the arrest followed a fast-moving response involving Bunnell police and Flagler County sheriff's deputies.
According to Observer Local News, officers were called around 7:33 p.m. Friday to a reckless-driver complaint near Education Way and North State Street. The motorists said a white Hyundai Tucson was swerving between lanes as it traveled south, then that the driver pointed a handgun toward them when they passed. They accelerated away, stopped somewhere safe and called 911.
Separate Identifications And A Loaded Taurus Handgun
Flagler County deputies later located the Hyundai traveling south on U.S. 1 near Old Dixie Highway and identified Walker as its driver, police said. Bunnell officers brought the two motorists in separately for identification procedures, and both identified Walker and the Hyundai involved in the confrontation.
While securing the SUV, deputies reportedly saw several firearm magazines in plain view inside the center-console cupholder. Detectives obtained a search warrant Monday and recovered a Taurus 9mm handgun along with three loaded magazines, which were submitted into evidence. Walker was transported to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility and held on a $25,000 bond.
Bunnell Police Chief David Brannon said a disagreement behind the wheel “never justifies pointing or displaying a firearm.” The department said its officers worked with the sheriff's office to protect the motorists, preserve evidence and make the arrest.
New Arrest Follows A Nearly Identical 2023 Case
The arrest is especially notable because Walker previously faced the same felony charge after a separate road-rage investigation in 2023. Public-record details summarized by Observer Local News say two motorists then reported that Walker pointed a handgun at them near Palm Coast Parkway and Interstate 95.
In that case, a charging affidavit said Walker acknowledged displaying the firearm, and deputies recovered a loaded SCCY 9mm handgun from his vehicle. He entered a no-contest plea to aggravated assault with a firearm in February 2024 through a pretrial intervention agreement; after he completed the program, prosecutors entered a nolle prosequi in February 2026, ending that case without a conviction.
Flagler County Has Seen Another Road-Rage Shooting
The latest arrest comes after another road-rage confrontation in Palm Coast turned violent this year. In a May 27 release, the Flagler County Sheriff's Office said a dispute that began near Belle Terre Parkway escalated at a McDonald's drive-thru, where multiple shots were fired and a 61-year-old man suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
Florida law defines aggravated assault as an assault committed with a deadly weapon without intent to kill, and classifies it as a third-degree felony under Section 784.021. The current allegations remain just that until resolved in court, but the repeated pattern described by investigators shows how quickly a roadway argument can become a serious criminal case.
