A late-night crash on northbound Interstate 11 near downtown Las Vegas left an adult male pedestrian dead at the scene, according to Nevada Highway Patrol. The collision involved an SUV and happened just before 11 p.m. Saturday near the Martin Luther King Boulevard on-ramp.
Troopers responded after receiving a report of the crash, and the pedestrian was pronounced dead where he was found. The early report did not identify the man or provide additional details about the SUV driver.
The scene sits near the sprawling freeway interchange locals know as the Spaghetti Bowl, where I-11, I-15 and other major routes converge around downtown. Even a brief incident there can create headaches for overnight drivers, although officials did not immediately announce how long the crash investigation affected traffic.
Investigation Remains Underway
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported that the crash occurred on northbound I-11 near the Martin Luther King Boulevard on-ramp and remained a developing story. Nevada Highway Patrol is expected to release more information as investigators work to determine what led to the pedestrian being in the roadway.
The death comes amid a troubling year for people walking in the Las Vegas area. In a May report, KTNV reported that 46 people had died on Las Vegas-area roads in 2026 at that point, including 22 pedestrians.
Anyone who witnessed the crash or has relevant video may be asked to contact Nevada Highway Patrol as the investigation continues. Authorities have not announced any citations or arrests in connection with the collision.
