Downtown Baltimore's Power Plant Live! is getting a new bar built for concert crowds, sports fans, and karaoke enthusiasts alike. Rally's Corner Bar will open on September 10, featuring a dedicated stage for live bands, an outdoor patio, DJs, karaoke, and themed evening parties.

The new bar will open inside the 550,000-square-foot entertainment complex owned by The Cordish Companies, a 116-year-old family-owned real estate firm founded in 1910 by Louis Cordish and headquartered on the sixth floor of Baltimore's historic Pratt Street Power Plant. According to The Baltimore Banner, Anthony Matteo, director of operations for Power Plant Live!, said Rally's Corner Bar will offer an entertainment experience for any occasion. The complex drew over 3 million guests last year, according to a release cited in the Banner's reporting.

Rally's Corner Bar is positioned to serve people seeking drinks before concerts at nearby venues, as well as sports fans watching games. That framing makes sense given the bar's location: Nevermore Hall and Soundstage, both described in the Banner's report as nearby concert venues, sit within easy walking distance along Market Place.

A Concert Hall With a New Name and New Owners

Nevermore Hall opened at Power Plant Live! in 2025, replacing Rams Head Live!, which had operated in that same footprint since its 2004 debut and hosted more than a million concertgoers over 20 years before AEG Presents exited following the venue's final shows in December 2024, per SouthBMore.com. The 1,500-capacity hall, now booked by Live Nation under new management led by the owners of Baltimore Soundstage, is described as a music venue with multiple bars and gothic-inspired decor, according to Baltimore Fishbowl.

Baltimore Soundstage itself, located across the street at 124 Market Place, operates as a 1,000-person indoor venue and shares physical box office operations with Nevermore Hall. Together, club-sized rooms like these fill a distinct market tier between small local bars and arena-scale spaces like the 14,000-plus seat CFG Bank Arena, as Hoodline has previously reported.

Mosaic Ultra Lounge Gets a Facelift

Rally's Corner Bar isn't the only refresh underway at Power Plant Live!. Mosaic Ultra Lounge will begin renovations on August 16, including programmable lighting, new LED displays, and an updated DJ booth, ahead of a grand reopening set for September 12. The timing places both openings within days of each other, adding two new draws to the complex within the same week.

The wave of tenant changes fits into a broader pattern at the complex. Geno's Steaks opened its first Maryland location at Power Plant Live! in March, marking one of several recent additions that Hoodline covered in its report on the cheesesteak chain's Baltimore debut. That opening followed the initial announcement Hoodline detailed months earlier when the chain first confirmed plans to expand into the complex.

Downtown Tourism Numbers Back the Investment

These venue shifts and bar openings are landing at a moment of strong tourism growth downtown. Downtown Baltimore welcomed 28.5 million visitors in 2025, generating $4.3 billion in visitor spending — a 7.5% year-over-year increase — according to the Downtown Partnership of Baltimore's 2026 State of Downtown report, as reported by WBAL-TV. City leaders and the Downtown Partnership are also executing a 10-year Downtown RISE Masterplan that includes evaluating an Arts, Entertainment, and Nightlife Director position alongside tax incentive legislation for downtown developments.

Power Plant Live!'s central plaza, with its translucent roof canopy and permanent stage, has long hosted large-scale outdoor events, including the annual multi-venue Rally in the Alley festival that Hoodline covered back in 2019. With Rally's Corner Bar joining the roster this fall alongside a refreshed Mosaic Ultra Lounge, the complex appears set to keep leaning into that rally-branded identity as it courts concertgoers, sports fans and karaoke crowds heading into the district's busy season.
