A pedestrian was struck and killed on the westbound Santa Monica (10) Freeway early Monday, forcing an initial closure of all lanes near Vermont Avenue. The fatal crash happened before the morning commute fully got moving, turning a normally fast-moving stretch of freeway into an emergency scene.
