The Raiders are tackling one of back-to-school season’s less glamorous expenses: the haircut bill. Across the Las Vegas Valley, local shops are giving youth free cuts and beauty services this week, with one Summerlin location already serving 100 students in a single afternoon.
FOX5 Vegas reported that Fade ’Em All Summerlin hosted 100 students Monday, with 10 barbers completing haircuts over four hours. The Raiders’ wider program runs through Sunday, is first come, first served, and aims to serve about 1,000 students before the new school year begins.
Fade ’Em All co-owner Robert Taylor said demand grows every year and that “the list gets filled up quick.” The shop had already been offering free back-to-school haircuts for more than two decades before the Raiders partnership began, according to FOX5 Vegas.
For families, the savings are not theoretical. Robin Stumps, a grandmother of four who also cares for two foster children, said she typically pays about $50 per haircut, meaning two boys can turn a routine pre-school visit into a $100 expense.
The giveaway is also a small-business story, not just a team promotion. In its account of the 2024 effort, the Las Vegas Raiders said it worked with five local businesses and helped more than 1,000 students that year, showing how the partnership has grown into a recurring community effort.
