An 18-year-old woman was found fatally shot on the patio of a Rock Hill home before dawn Saturday, and police have charged a 22-year-old woman with murder. The arrest came just hours after officers were called to the residence.
According to WCCB Charlotte, officers responded to a home on Horseman Drive near West Main Street shortly before 4 a.m. Police said they found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound, and a firearm believed to have been used in the shooting was recovered. Detectives identified Jamorria McClinton as the suspect and arrested her at a relative’s home.

McClinton is charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a crime of violence. South Carolina law defines murder as a killing committed with express or implied malice, while a conviction for possessing a firearm during a violent crime can bring an additional five-year sentence under circumstances outlined in the South Carolina Code.
The arrest follows other deadly shooting investigations in Rock Hill this year, including an April case in which police said a 33-year-old man was found with multiple gunshot wounds at a home on Flint Hill Street, as reported by WBTV.
