Construction is underway on a new Roseville bikeway designed to give West Park High School students and nearby residents a safer connection through west Roseville. The work also means drivers and cyclists will need to share a little extra patience around the project zone for the next several weeks.
Construction has begun on the Westpark Dr and Phillip Rd Bikeway Project. Once complete, it will improve bicycle connectivity between West Park High School and surrounding neighborhoods.

What The Westpark Bikeway Will Add
The Westpark Drive and Phillip Road Bikeway Project includes a buffered, two-way bicycle path alongside Westpark Drive, plus a new paved trail running between Westpark Drive and West Park High School, according to the City of Roseville project page. Shared-lane markings are also planned along Phillip Road.
Construction is taking place Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., with crews working near Pistachio Park. The city says the project is expected to be finished by the end of September, although construction timelines are approximate and may change, as noted in the city's announcement.
Work Fits Into Roseville’s Growing Bike Network
The new connection arrives as Roseville continues expanding its network of bike lanes and off-street trails. The city says it has more than 110 miles of on-street bike lanes and over 51 miles of paved off-street trails, while its broader bicycle program includes Safe Routes to School efforts and other bike-safety initiatives.
Roseville was elevated to a Silver Bicycle Friendly Community designation in January, adding a little official shine to the city's ongoing push for better bicycle access.
