San Diego is starting today under a mostly cloudy sky, with temperatures near 70 degrees at the airport and calm winds before sunrise. By afternoon, the clouds should give way to mostly sunny skies and a comfortable high near 81.
The National Weather Service San Diego forecasts northwest winds of 5 to 10 mph and no rain for today. Temperatures should ease back to around 69 degrees tonight, when patchy fog is expected to return after 11 PM.
Foggy Mornings, Sunny Afternoons
That coastal gray may linger into Wednesday morning, with patchy fog expected before 11 AM. Once it clears, Wednesday should turn mostly sunny with a high near 82 degrees and light west winds.
Warmest Stretch Arrives Midweek
Thursday should look much the same near the coast, with mostly sunny skies and another high around 82 degrees. Friday through next Sunday are also forecast to reach about 82, before next Monday cools slightly to around 81.
Inland neighborhoods will feel a sharper version of the warm-up, with the broader county’s valleys and deserts running considerably hotter through Thursday and Friday. The National Weather Service says afternoon showers and thunderstorms are possible in the mountains and deserts on Thursday and Friday, but the chance remains minimal for San Diego’s coastal communities.
Clear Outlook For Outdoor Plans
Rain chances stay at zero next Tuesday and Wednesday, then rise only slightly later in the week. With light winds, sunny afternoons and no weather advisories listed, beach walks, park time and other outdoor plans should have a mostly easy forecast—once the morning fog gets out of the way.
