Santa Monica is swapping the multiplex for a hotel pool deck Saturday night, where Eat Pray Love will screen beside the Pacific as part of a $40 outdoor movie series built around classic road-trip films. According to Time Out, Saturday’s screening begins at 8 p.m. at Regent Santa Monica Beach. The $40 ticket includes unlimited popcorn and soda plus a snack pack, while cocktails and food are available for purchase.

The series leans into the open-road theme with a lineup of travel and road-trip favorites tied to the centennial of Route 66. Visit Santa Monica lists upcoming screenings of To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar, Little Miss Sunshine, Almost Famous, and Grease on successive Saturday nights.
The event is being staged on the resort’s lower pool deck overlooking the ocean, according to the City of Santa Monica’s events calendar. That makes it less traditional beach screening and more resort-style movie night, with the sunset doing some of the production design before the opening credits roll.
