Sarasota’s floating ice cream stop is preparing to make landfall, with SeaKing Ice Cream planning a permanent shop that adds birthday parties, crafts, and a decidedly ocean-themed twist to the usual scoop run.
Plan review paperwork shows the beach-and-boat dessert brand is heading into a South Sarasota storefront, according to WhatNow Tampa. SeaKing is best known for cruising Sarasota’s waters and serving beachgoers, boaters, and sandbar parties from its ice cream boat.
SeaKing’s New Shop Goes Beyond Scoops
The planned shop is being designed as a party destination as much as an ice cream counter. SeaKing’s official website describes birthday reservations with sea life documentaries, craft activities, a full topping bar, and even live jellyfish and a live octopus for guests to see.
The website also advertises daily walk-in hours from 1 to 9 p.m., with birthday-party reservations available in the morning. The concept would give families a shore-based way to get the SeaKing experience, even when the boat is staying docked.
Opening Date Has Not Been Announced
As of Friday, no opening date had been determined, WhatNow reported after contacting a SeaKing representative. The shop is planned for 7650 S. Tamiami Trail, Suite 9, in Sarasota, and SeaKing is directing customers to its website and Instagram for updates as the buildout moves forward.
