The Fisherman is coming to Orlando, and this time he isn't hunting down a group of guilty teenagers on a movie screen. SeaWorld Orlando will turn the 1997 slasher I Know What You Did Last Summer into a new Howl-O-Scream haunted house, complete with Southport, a hook and the fictional massacre that started the franchise's nightmare. It is a remarkably tidy crossover: seaside horror meets a theme park built around water.
Called I Know What You Did Last Summer: The Final Catch, the attraction will send guests through recreated scenes from the film and its sinister Southport setting, according to WFTV. SeaWorld says it will be the first time the movie has been adapted for a major Halloween event.
The park's official attraction guide says guests will enter the world of the movie while the Fisherman stalks their every move. The route is designed to recreate the seaside town of Southport and challenge visitors to escape before the killer catches up, which sounds less like a leisurely theme-park stroll and more like a very bad vacation decision.
Howl-O-Scream Builds A Bigger Horror Playground
The new haunt joins a 2026 Howl-O-Scream lineup that includes five haunted houses, six scare zones, five themed bars, live entertainment and nighttime rides. The official event page lists select nights from September 11 through October 31, with the separately ticketed event beginning at 7 p.m.
SeaWorld Orlando's Halloween event is returning for its sixth year, and the park has already announced another all-new house, Everything Must Stay, along with four rides operating after dark, according to SeaWorld's announcement. The park has promised additional reveals in the weeks ahead, so the Fisherman may not be the only familiar nightmare waiting in the fog.
The haunted house will not be limited to Central Florida. Versions are also planned for SeaWorld parks in San Diego and San Antonio, while SeaWorld Orlando is promoting limited-time Howl-O-Scream ticket discounts, WFTV reported.
