A second-alarm fire was burning Monday afternoon at a three-story apartment building in Aurora, with firefighters searching inside and hose lines in operation. One person asked for medical attention, while no other injuries had been reported in the initial update.
Aurora Fire Rescue said crews and Aurora Police Department officers were on scene at 16203 E. Alameda Place. Firefighters were working to control the blaze when the department called for a second alarm, bringing additional resources to the incident.
Firefighters Were Still Searching The Building
Crews were conducting an interior search as paramedics evaluated the person who requested medical attention, according to the department’s update. Officials did not release the person’s condition or say whether the individual was taken to a hospital.
The initial information did not identify a cause, detail the extent of the damage or say how many residents may have been displaced. Aurora Fire Rescue said more information would follow; the department lists 911 for emergencies and 303-627-3100 for non-emergency calls.
